An American school that does not ask your child to give up Spanish

Chanak is a private school registered with the Florida Department of Education. We enroll the student, hold the academic record and issue the transcript and diploma ourselves — we are not a course marketplace.

Full U.S. K-12

Elementary, Middle and High School with an individualized learning plan, mastery-based progression, report cards and official transcripts.

Weekly live mentoring

Every student is assigned a mentor who reviews progress, sets weekly goals and catches problems early. Families follow everything in the SIS.

Heritage and faith

Academic English alongside Heritage Spanish, family history, cultural roots and an explicit Christian worldview track.

Florida PEP Home Education — Authorized Instructional Support

Under the Personalized Education Program (PEP) through Step Up for Students, Florida families directing their child's home education can access Chanak's approved Home Education Instructional Programs directly in EMA. You teach at home; Chanak provides structured academic mentoring, life skills, and required student learning plan documentation.

Chanak International Academy (legal entity: Chanak TrainUp Education Inc., FLDOE #134620) is an approved direct service provider in the EMA Marketplace. Families receiving PEP scholarships can use their scholarship funds to cover authorized instructional support packages.

For bilingual and Hispanic families, our program solves a key need: your child preserves family values, heritage language, and bilingual skills at home, with certified academic mentorship and individualized guidance.

The 60·20·20 model

Every Chanak program is built on the same three-part structure. It is what lets a student be fully prepared for a U.S. university without losing the language and culture of home.

Final Evaluations & Transcripts
Rolling Admissions & Mastery-Based Progression: In addition to the standard 3-term academic calendar, Chanak's mastery learning model supports open year-round enrollment. Official transcripts and quarterly grade reports are synchronized with each term closing date under Florida Department of Education registration (FLDOE #134620).

State scholarships and education savings accounts

Several states now fund part or all of a family's education expenses. What each program covers differs, and the rules change every legislative session, so here is where Chanak actually stands.

Part-time programs

Our Dual Diploma, individual courses and Academic English are part-time and are the kind of expense several state programs cover as curriculum or part-time instruction. Ask your scholarship funding organization whether Chanak can be reimbursed under your account.

Full-time distance instruction

Florida's choice scholarships do not treat full-time online instruction from a private school as an eligible expense. Our full-time K-12 program is paid directly by the family, or supported through Chanak Foundation aid.

What we can do today

We issue itemized invoices with our FLDOE registration number, enrollment records and transcripts, which is what most scholarship organizations require for reimbursement. Eligibility is always determined by the funding organization, never by us.

How enrollment works

1

Request guidance

Tell us the student's grade, language level and what your family is looking for.

2

Send the academic record

Report cards or transcripts from the current or previous school.

3

Receive a personalized evaluation

Grade placement, individualized learning plan and exact tuition, in writing, before you commit.

4

Confirm enrollment

Enrollment opens the official record in the SIS. Initial status is "pending review" until the file is complete.

5

Start

Platform credentials, an induction session, an assigned mentor and the first live class.

Frequently asked questions

Is Chanak accredited?

Chanak International Academy is registered as a private school with the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE #134620, publicly verifiable) and is an official candidate for accreditation with the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools. The validation visit has been completed with a favorable recommendation from the visiting committee; the commission's decision is expected in November 2026. Chanak is not accredited by MSA yet.

Who issues the diploma and the transcript?

Chanak does. We enroll the student, hold the academic record and issue the official U.S. transcript and the American High School Diploma. Each college and university sets its own admission and credit-recognition requirements.

Does my child need to speak English already?

No. The Academic Diagnostic places the student at their real level, and the Academic English Pathway builds from there. Family support is bilingual throughout.

Can we enroll mid-year?

Yes. Enrollment is open year-round and the individualized learning plan is built from where the student actually is, not from a fixed calendar.

Is this a homeschool program or a school?

It is a school. Families school at home, but the student is enrolled in a registered private school that keeps the record and issues the credentials.

Is financial aid available?

The Chanak Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, awards need-based scholarships through an application and a selection committee, with a defined annual budget. Ask Admissions for the current criteria and deadlines.
