CHANAK / FAMILY GUIDE

Homeschool with Chanak: freedom, structure and country pathways

Our philosophy and the questions each family should resolve where they live.

Home learning can create room for individual pace, family life and learning beyond a classroom. For Chanak, flexibility comes with direction, evidence and progress reviews. A single model cannot be assumed to meet legal requirements everywhere.

The meaning of Chanak

Our name reflects the biblical idea of training and guiding in Proverbs 22:6. Our Christian identity connects learning, character and purpose. We seek to develop knowledge, responsibility and life skills while respecting individual pace and maintaining clear goals.

Freedom with structure

Mastery learning focuses on consolidating content before progressing. The Off-Campus 60/20/20 model connects academic core, local extension and Life Skills. Specific resources and submissions depend on the agreed programme; state-funded or complementary services do not necessarily include this entire pathway.

A useful structure includes a starting point, individual plan, objectives, resources, work samples and scheduled reviews. Records and documents issued depend on actual enrolment and the contracted programme.

United States

Home education rules vary by state. In Florida, district-registered Home Education, private-school enrolment and PEP through an SFO state funding organization are different pathways. Chanak support or purchases through EMA do not automatically replace family registration and obligations.

Alabama’s CHOOSE Act supports eligible expenses for qualifying families. Hiring an approved provider does not itself establish a student’s legal education pathway. Confirm the specific authorised services, eligibility and payment process.

Spain

Basic education is compulsory. Families considering a foreign distance school should verify their circumstances with the competent education authorities. Chanak enrolment does not guarantee compliance with school attendance requirements or recognition of studies. Review a locally compatible pathway, complementary programme or applicable recognition procedure.

Mexico and Panama

Consult the local education authority about enrolment, continuity, equivalencies and required documents for the student’s grade. Distinguish international academic support from enrolment recognised locally. Dual Diploma may complement a local pathway when appropriate; it does not mean automatic recognition of all studies.

Other countries and moves

Actual residence, age, academic history and future destination matter. Before relocating, check requirements and preserve original records. Be able to explain where the student is enrolled, who validates their studies and how they will continue.

Before enrolling

  1. Confirm residence and education obligations.
  2. Choose the appropriate Chanak programme.
  3. Confirm included records and follow-up.
  4. Identify family registration and documentation tasks.
  5. Check requirements for future transfers or further study.

Ask Chanak for information about your country or state programme and confirm its conditions before enrolment. Purposeful flexibility includes knowing which decisions remain to be made.
